Not so much a stream, but random puddles of consciousness.

Unlike my other blog, Suburbia, this is hopefully more of a thoughtful, personal site.

Scotland Yet: a film about independence (FULL MOVIE) from Scotland Yet on Vimeo.

Help support independent Scottish film making by purchasing a DVD of the film:

Scotland Yet is a feature length documentary that takes a radically different approach to the debate on Scottish independence.

Blissfully free of sound bites, politicians and statistics, Scotland Yet examines the sum of several personal stories from across the nation to explore the many reasons why we find ourselves at such an historic impasse.

Filled with remarkable characters and sparkling with collective imagination, vision and humour, this is the story of a society that’s beginning to see itself in a whole new light. From the old to the young, from veteran activists to bold artists, Scotland Yet delves into the past, documents the present and asks poignant questions about Scotland’s future.

This films focuses on the real referendum debate, the one taking place in the streets, homes and communities across Scotland. It documents the most important discussion we have ever had, as democracy, place, what we have here and what we lack, come to the fore.

A coming of age story about a whole society: Scotland Yet is a unique and radical cinematic journey about a country that will never be the same again.

The San Juans. Proven Here. from Yeti Cycles on Vimeo.

In late fall, we traveled to the high elevations of the San Juan mountains to explore the vast range and to test out our prototype suspension platform. Our trip took us to the southwest part of Colorado because the San Juan’s contain some of the most rugged terrain in Colorado and offer a loose network of trails — some fully developed, others just old mining paths filtering down the mountainside.

Fall in the Rockies is always epic, but the weather is variable. We encountered freezing temps and snow, but were rewarded with fresh loam and peak colors. In the end, after the trails were explored, weather was endured, flat tires were fixed, and a few beers were drunk, we found out what works and what doesn’t. Excursions like this are part of the feedback loop necessary to fully develop our suspension designs. SB5 Carbon & The San Juan’s. Proven Here.

BikePark Wales, Summer Fun - GoPro Chest Mount from Ben Dunster on Vimeo.

BikePark Wales is great at all times of the year, but I think it’s always better in the sun. This was filmed on a Friday at BPW and was pretty quiet. The trails filmed are Vicious Valley (Red), Blue Belle (Blue), Sixtapod (Blue), Locomotion (Red) and Willy Waver (Blue). They are so fun as they flow really nicely with many small jumps along the way. The bike is a Nukeproof Mega TR 275 Comp.

Camera: GoPro Hero 2, 960p 30fps. Stretched to 16:9 in GoPro Studio with 4x3 to wide effect.

Keep Skateistan Rolling in 2014 - Madina’s Story (Afghanistan) from Skateistan on Vimeo.

Things are changing in Afghanistan. Help Skateistan continue to empower Afghan youth like Madina, and Keep Skateistan Rolling. This July we’re aiming to raise $20,000 USD and we need your help!

16-year-old Madina is one of Afghanistan’s most talented skaters. Starting out in Skateistan’s creative arts and skateboarding program, Madina began as a student but has quickly become an excellent female role model and an inspiring teacher.

Only 13% of Afghan women can read, and over 70 000 Afghan children work in the streets daily to support their families.

Since joining Skateistan, Madina has gone from ordinary Afghan girl to a TEDx speaker. In 2014 she represented Afghanistan at UN Habitat’s World Urban Forum in 2014 - her first time leaving her country.

Help us Keep Skateistan Rolling, and continue to offer leadership opportunities to the youth of Afghanistan, Cambodia, and South Africa through skateboarding.
